Springvalley Kindergarten has been rated as Exceeding National Quality Standard

The service demonstrated strengths in all quality areas. Educators critically reflected on ways to meaningfully engage with families and demonstrated a strong commitment to inclusive practice. The service was staffed with experienced educators who made efforts to reducing any barriers and delivering a high-quality educational program.

The team of educators worked collaboratively and used their knowledge of the practice principles of the approved learning framework to create a culture of professional learning, reflective practice and continuous improvement. Educators demonstrated a commitment to providing a rich and dynamic learning environment that was play based and catered to the needs of all children and families. Children had opportunities to lead their own learning. All interactions, experiences and routines both planned and unplanned were designed to promote each child’s progress towards the learning outcomes of the approved frameworks and encouraged curiosity and creative expression. There was a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and environmental awareness, which was evident in all aspects of the educational program.

Purposeful play spaces were provided, and the design of the facilities contributed to the outcomes of the program. Consideration had been given to every detail of the indoor and outdoor environments and ensured that the physical environment supported relationships, inclusion, learning and development. The service team engaged in ongoing critical reflection which supported well -informed decisions and plans for continuous improvement. Educators were increasingly thoughtful about their work and were motivated to explore new ideas and approaches.

Educators continuously sought further ways in which they could build upon their professional knowledge and worked as a team to engage in reflective discussions. Educator practices were informed by meaningful engagement with children, families and the community. All educators viewed responsive, reciprocal and ongoing relationships as a way of gaining a greater understanding of children, families and the community. Educators had developed collaborative and trusting relationships with families, tailoring their interactions to suit each family’s preference.

The service is encouraged to continue on its path to ongoing high-quality practice, with a focus on inclusion, cultural awareness and sustainability. The service is encouraged to continue strengthening children’s connection with and understanding of their community.
